A little about me

I found yoga – or maybe yoga found me – in 2012. It started off as an addition to my workout routine. I can’t explain what happened after those first few classes – but I knew I needed it and was ready for whatever “it” was. My mat was my safe space. The place where I could clear my mind and sort out my thoughts. A place where I could discover more about me. To this very day, my mat is still my safe space. I absolutely use it for my asana and meditation practice. But some days when I’m feeling off, I just plop myself on it for a bit. I can feel the “it” feeling. Support; love; positive energy; a place to let my feelings surface.

I am a mom of two little ones. I practiced different styles of yoga through both of my pregnancies. The prenatal classes that I took had such an incredible impact on my well-being and in preparing me for labor + delivery that I knew I wanted to share this with other women.

In addition to my 500 hours of training in vinyasa-style yoga, I completed 85 hours focusing on prenatal and postpartum health. I am a CPPC (Certified Pre- and Postnatal Coach) through Girls Gone Strong. I’ve taken additional courses locally and nationally led by yoga instructors and doulas. I am also a birth doula myself.

Why I Love To Teach And Why Focus On Mamas?

Short and simple: it fills my heart to share yoga with other people. I enjoy creating a space where people can experience the connection of their mind and body. I believe that a regular yoga practice can bring great transformation to your life. When you start to see the physical and mental changes yoga can bring, you realize that this growth and self discovery improves all aspects of your life. Yoga gives me the opportunity to find strength, inner peace and stillness – this allows me to live more authentically. I want to share the goodness that it has brought to my life with others.
During my first pregnancy, I had already had an established yoga practice. I continued to practice regularly and also incorporated prenatal yoga. As my pregnancy progressed, I became completely amazed with all things birth. It was incredible (and really strange!?) to watch my body grow and adjust to nourish the life within my womb. But it wasn’t just physical – many mental and spiritual shifts happened too. My yoga practice was the one constant in my life during all of these rapid changes. (Aside from my husband!) For that I am forever thankful. It had such a profound impact on my pregnancies, well-being, labor and delivery that I knew I wanted to share that with other women.
